Summer time.      Here in the Salt Lake Valley, it's been somewhat of a good summer.   Hot during the day, cooling off at night.  Some rain, some wind..  Just like a normal summer.. This summer is the first I have spent on my own in several years.  I work and come home and do what I want.  I even setup an air cooler to keep the house cool while I'm at work during the day. Not much time for socializing.  I'm saving my meager earnings for a new car.  The more I save, the more I can put down and the lower my payments will be.  The car I have is pretty good, but it's 7 years old. I have a little garden, flowers and some vegetables.  Some herbs

I have no idea what my heritage is,.  I have auburn hair, grew up in Kentucky.  MY dad made his own beer, when he was around.  So I could be Irish.  But then, everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day. So.. today I am going to be Irish. I have a corn beef brisket slow cooking.  There are red potatoes, carrots, in that cooker too.  I have a head of cabbage ready to put in 30 minutes before all that is finished cooking. What make all of this special is that there will be no one around today to bitch about the smell.  To bitch about celebrating a holiday for some other nationality than theirs.  To complain about spending hard earned money of som

A new phase of my life began today.  I thought of saying that I'm on my own now, but it also occurs to me that I've been on my own throughout what was called a "relationship". So what begins today is me being on my own without interference.  His stuff is gone, and all my stuff is here.  Or as George Carlin might say, "his junk is gone and my stuff is here." I can do what I want, when I want, but I think the best thing I'm looking forward to is a clean kitchen, clean living room, and a clean bedroom.  No more shoes in the hall, jeans on the floor, towels wherever he stopped to scratch himself, of check to see if he was still as small as he's
